Official fees related to trademarks will be revised as from April 1, 2022.
– The newly revised fees will be applied based on the date of payment of the official fee(s) concerned. That is, if the payment date is on or before March 31, 2022, the old official fees will be applied. If the payment date is on or after April 1, 2022, the revised fees will be applied.
– The registration fee for establishing a trademark right will be applied based on the date on which you actually make payment. Therefore, the trademark registration fee will be less expensive if you make payment by March 31, 2022 after receiving a decision for trademark registration, regardless of the due date for payment.
– The renewal fee will be applied based on the date of filing an application for renewal, regardless of the due date for filing such an application. For example, if the time period within which the renewal request should be filed starts from March 31, 2022, the old fee will be applied if you file a renewal application on March 31, 2022, while the revised fee will be applied if you file one on or after April 1, 2022.
