We welcome Judge Toshiaki Iimura; Former Chief Judge of the Intellectual Property High Court, as special counsel of our firm as of October, 2014.

Mr. Iimura has worked as a judge on the front line of intellectual property disputes for almost 20 years. His expansive career has led him to undertake high profile roles including: judge of the Intellectual Property Division of Tokyo District Court, presiding judge of the Intellectual Property Division of Tokyo District Court, presiding judge of the Intellectual Property High Court and Chief of the Intellectual Property High Court. Mr. Iimura has always strived towards realizing (1) speedy and substantial hearings and (2) appropriate and reasonable judgments. He has contributed greatly to the development of the intellectual property court system through various publications in Japan and overseas; exchanged opinions with Patent Offices, Bar Associations, Patent Attorneys Associations, Japanese and foreign enterprises, etc. and has attended intellectual property conferences throughout the world.
