Notice of the National Holidays in 2012.
We will have the national holidays indicated below. The Japan Patent Office, the IP High Court as well as our firm will be closed on these days.
Coming-of-age Day on January 9th.
National founding day on February 11th.
Vernal equinox day on March 20th.
Showa’s day on April 29th.
Substitute holiday for showa's day on April 30th.
Constitution day on May 3rd.
Greenery day on May 4th.
Children’s day on May 5th.
Marine day on July 16th.
Respect-for-the-aged day on September 17th.
Autumnal equinox day on September 22nd.
Health-sports day on October 8th.
Culture day on November 3rd.
Labor thanksgiving day on November 23rd.
The Emperor's birthday on December 23rd. The Japanese year-end and new-year holidays are from December 29th, 2012 through January 3rd, 2013.
* All deadlines falling on a holiday for filing patent/design/trademark applications, oppositions, appeals and related documents with the Japan Patent Office are automatically extended to the next working day by law. Our facsimile machines continue to receive messages even on holidays. However, should you have any imminent deadlines or urgent cases, we recommend that you send instructions well before a holiday.
